Welcome to the Ready, Willing and Able Pre-Apprentice Program
The Ready, Willing and Able (RWA) pre-apprenticeship is designed to help you prepare for work, apprenticeships, and job opportunities. It focuses on building skills, confidence, and readiness before you enter employment.
As a pre—apprentice, you have access to:
A dedicated RWA counselor who supports you the process
Free online training programs to build job-readiness skills
Help with resume creation on review (if you already have one)
Guidance on career options and next steps
Access to IWSI jobs and apprenticeship opportunities through the RWA jobs board

Completion Certificate
You must complete a minimum of 6 hours to graduate from the pre-apprenticeship. Each session is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. The total includes online training and the one-on-one session where you begin applying for jobs.
After completing the required training and being ready for referral , you will receive a Pre-Apprenticeship Completion Certificate. You can add this certificate to your resume to show employers you have completed job-readiness through RWA.
Important: Pre-apprenticeship is preparation, not a job. Employer-specific training happens after you are hired. Pre-apprentices are all ages and at different stages, so the program is flexible and self-paced.
Support is available at any time if you have any questions. If you are unsure what to do next, your RWA counselor is your first point of contact.
